Africa is a continent
which contains 61 political territories (including 53 countries),
representing the largest of the three great southward projections
from the main mass of the earth’s surface. It includes,
within its remarkably regular outline, an area of 30,368,609
square kms including adjacent islands. Geography teachers
should find a rich vein to mine in the desert landscape images
of Namibia and the urban geography images of Cape Town and
its townships in South Africa. Botswana, Egypt, Kenya and
Morocco will be added to the bank as soon as possible.
